Founded in 2004, College Film Tour (CFT) is an organization dedicated to making great independent cinema accessible to a larger audience. College Film Tour works directly with filmmakers to generate maximum exposure for their films and create sustainable income to keep them entertaining us with their talent for years to come.
Our first program was College Film Tour's Film Festival program. Through this program, our goal was to create successful on campus film festival events working with campus activities and educational programming organizations. Our hope was that all our host schools can band together to create one comprehensive alternative distribution chain for worthwhile cinema giving our filmmakers a large new audience that has seen their films.
We have now taken our original vision and added a new program for our growing home audience. Our Indie Club program allows our membership to enjoy film festival programming in the privacy of their own home, share great hard to find films with their friends and support great independent filmmakers. CFT shares our club dues with our filmmakers to create a sustainable model for both of us to keep bringing great independent cinema to our audiences. Our goal is to develop an active, tight knit, independent film audience that supports filmmakers and each other. Our hope is Indie Club becomes a place to enjoy independent films and meet other people with similar interests both on and off line
What started as a very small limited mission 6 years ago has evolved into vision for a better independent film community. College Film Tour is now a company that represents both the independent filmmaker and their audience by directly connecting one with the other. By banding together, we can support each other and create a larger community to ensure important voices and films never get overlooked again. Thank you for being a part of our film movement.
